About the Senior Center

The Neighborhood House Association (NHA) Senior Center promotes independent living for as long as possible by providing services that improve quality of life. The program provides health and social centered services that link seniors to fitness, emotional support, social activities, and healthy meals. Senior Center participants are served a continental breakfast and lunch daily. Lunch meals are prepared by the NHA’s Nutrition Services program and the menu is designed to provide seniors with healthy nutritious meal options.

Eligibility

Individuals who are 60 years of age or older are eligible to participate in the program.

Volunteer At the NHA Senior Center

Volunteer for the NHA Senior Center will support the Senior Center Manager with day-to-day responsibilities of the program. Volunteers should be self-motivated, passionate about providing services to older-adults, and adhere to the policies set forth in the NHA Senior Center Code of Conduct. 

Duties for NHA Senior Service Center Volunteer(s): 

  • Assist Senior Center Manager with administrative duties (answering phones, filling, etc.) 
  • Assist with preparation and serving of breakfast and lunch (food handler’s license required) 
  • Assist with the facilitation of various activities (walking/exercise, painting, bingo, movie day, etc.) 

Payment

Services are provided at no cost to clients .

The Senior Service Center does not discriminate because of race, color, handicap or national origin. No eligible person shall be denied a meal because of failure or inability to pay.
