Neighborhood House Association’ s CONNECTION program is a teen pregnancy prevention program that provides proactive education to high-risk teens. The program serves teens through in-school curriculum aimed at assisting youth to make responsible decisions relevant to sexual and reproductive behavior. The CONNECTION program targets the underlying causes of unwed teen pregnancies in the community by providing education, counseling, referrals, mentoring and recreation services to local youth.

  • Reduce the number of teen pregnancies in the community
  • Reduce the number of children who grow up in fatherless homes as a result of teen pregnancies
  • Promote responsible parenting and the involvement of the father in the economic, social and emotional support of his children

Neighborhood House Association’s CONNECTION program is free of charge and open to teens ages 12 to 18 who live primarily in the following communities:

  • Downtown
  • Encanto
  • La Mesa
  • Logan Heights
  • Paradise Hills
  • Southeast San Diego

For more details on how you can have the Connection at your site, please call 619-263-7761.

Each teen enrolled in The CONNECTION program learns problem-solving and decision-making skills, understanding of values, reproductive health education and self esteem building. Services to parents of participants include counseling and referrals.
