Marcia Samuels

Prior to coming to Neighborhood House Association (NHA) Marcia spent over 25 years at the City of San Diego. Most recently she was the Director of the Customer Services Department in the office of Mayor Jerry Sanders. Prior to that Marcia worked in various departments including: Police, Neighborhood Code Compliance, Community and Economic Development, General Services and Water. Marcia started her City of San Diego career in the Chemistry Lab at the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant. Though Marcia had a wonderful career at the City of San Diego, she is delighted to bring her energy and experience to NHA.

In that capacity, she oversees most of the non-Head Start social service programs including Project Enable (Mental Health services), Adult Day Health Care, The Connection (teen pregnancy prevention and education), Housing Counseling Program, HIV/AIDS Case Management, Transportation, Senior Center including a Senior Nutrition Program, Facilities, the Head Start Central Kitchen, and the Print Shop.

Ms. Samuels holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and a Masters in Business Administration from National University in San Diego.

She is a current Board Member of San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union, Past Board Member of Jackie Robinson Family YMCA, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Ms. Samuels lives in Alpine, CA; she is married and enjoys spending time with her husband, and their Labrador retriever.
