Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of Finance

Motivated by his passion for Head Start and its mission to level the playing field for all children, Kim Peck has dedicated the past 18 years to instituting financial reporting systems, procurement practices, assets and inventory controls which brought effective monitoring of the Head Start program. He is certified as a Federal Reviewer with the Department of Health & Human Services program and designated as coach for other reviewers because of the quantity and quality of his review experiences. In February 2007, he joined Neighborhood House Association as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Kim comes with over 27 years’ experience working with financial administration, personnel, risk management and management information systems. He has worked with numerous for-profit and non-profit companies and is highly regarded for his successful negotiation of union contracts, reduction of workers compensation costs, and bringing a nonprofit organization from bankruptcy to full restitution to general business and accounting practice. Mr. Peck spent over three years as Fiscal Chief for Sacramento Employment & Training Agency (SETA) and had responsibility for the financial reporting and budget of a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) for the City and County of Sacramento.

Since 2009 under Kim’s direction, NHA’s Finance team has delivered clean audits with no findings or a management letter. They have also successfully completed two visits from OIG that resulted in no findings which is unheard of in the Federal domain. Not to mention that there were also three Federal reviews as well as annual county and state audits with very few concerns noted.

He has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from Golden Gate University and an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science from Sierra College. Kim is married and has 5 children and two grandchildren. He enjoys golf and the beach.
