Andrea Dixon

Executive Office Manager 

Andrea Dixon is a native San Diegan and joined the NHA team in 2009.  Andrea grew up in the community that NHA predominantly serves.  Andrea currently serves as Executive Office Manager and Confidential Assistant to the President and CEO. Although, initially hired as the Senior Executive Assistant to the President and CEO; it didn’t take long to realize that a better suited title for Andrea was Executive Office Manager. This decision was made by Andrea exemplifying her managerial and leadership skills through her outstanding work on a multitude of special projects and assignments such as: served as member of the COVID-19 Task Force – Andrea researched and negotiated the contract for a vendor to provide COVID-19 vaccinations and testing for employees, the Board of Directors, and their family members. Andrea also organized (3) vaccination events and routine weekly testing for staff members and certain vendors. Andrea played a vital role in seeing the Agency through an unprecedented and challenging period. Andrea also is on the planning committee for the annual golf tournament fundraiser; visionary of the annual employee and family fitness walk; member of the wellness committee; project manager for the remodel of the Executive board room and the Executive office suite. 

Andrea earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Mid Management from San Diego Community College and completed the certificate program in Event Planning at San Diego State University.  Her educational background and training lead her to a dream ten year career path in the hospitality industry where she served as an Event Manager at the San Diego Convention Center and Group Sales Manager at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Andrea has always been an active member in her community and frequently volunteer. While raising her two children as a single parent, she was active on youth organizations board of directors and parent advisory boards at their schools. She volunteered as the Office Manager at the campaign headquarter office for Presidential candidate Barak Obama in Jacksonville, Florida in 2008. Andrea served as the Sargent-at-Arms on the Board of Directors, Executive Women’s International 2017-2020 and is currently a member of the North County African American Women’s Association. 

Andrea has received recognitions and awards from; The State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Community Service; Kumba Fest Community Leadership Award and The Monitor News Administrative Assistant of the Year award. 

In her spare time, she loves to travel, attend concerts, live theater plays, sporting events, entertain, and plan amazing events for friends and family. Andrea has been fortunate to attend historical events such as the 2012 Presidential Inauguration and supporting inaugural balls; the dedication ceremonies for the MLK monument and The National Museum of African American African History and Culture in Washington DC, the unveiling of the “Four Spirits” memorial in Kelly Ingram Park, Birmingham, AL and toured the White House under the administration of President Barack Obama.  

Andrea is married to a US Navy Veteran, Dwayne, have two birth children Carleton and Tiffini, two bonus sons Dwayne II and Deven and three grandchildren, DaiShaun, Alazah and Jay’Lon.
