Scott Herber

Board Member 

Scott Herber has over 30 years of experience in technology companies focused on multi-family, legal, high technology, compliance, healthcare, and manufacturing. Deep global experience including direct and indirect sales channels, contract management, human resource management, and learning and development. He has worked for industry leaders such as UKG, IBM, and Eastman Kodak, as well as start-ups, mid-cap, and other multi-billion dollar technology companies.

Scott currently oversees channels and partners for Roost, a mission-driven tech company focused on improving property and renter financial health. Roost’s security deposit automation platform streamlines the cash deposit intake and refund process, reduces compliance risk, and improves reviews. It also provides renter financial amenities, including easy ways to save money and build credit history for renters. In addition, Scott is a managing partner of BlueTile, LLC, a fund committed to investing in affordable housing and early-stage businesses that improve the lives of everyday Americans. 

Prior to Roost, Scott was the General Manager of VIA Inc, a global communication and e-learning company specializing in compliance for F500 and Limited English Proficiency for US Healthcare. There he focused on rapid year-over-year growth, building strong teams with purpose, and defining the go-to-market strategies across all verticals.

Scott has served on boards and/or volunteered for multiple organizations including First Robotics, Veelo Inc, Elliot Center for Alternative Cancer Care, The Sedona Conference, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

He earned a BS in Marketing and Management from the University of Portland, with an executive certificate from Stanford University, Marketing Strategies for High Tech Companies. Scott is a fitness junkie who splits his time between Washington State and California. Scott and his wife Chanin have two amazing sons Cole (19) and Connor (16), along with two Black Russian Terriers named Max and Adele.
