If we had to describe 2025 in one word, it would be Momentum. Our year of forward motion took off with a beautiful start in February at our very first Valentine’s-themed baby shower in Oceanside, setting a tone of love and community that only intensified as the months rolled on. That energy carried us through the seasons—from the vibrant celebrations at the Oakland Black Joy Parade to finding our “zen” during peaceful yoga sessions with Movement Matters Collective. We kept that drive going all the way through the finish line, with our BIH mamas and minis hitting the pavement at the Head for the Cure 5K and our radiant expecting mamas, like Karleatha, shining at special BIH events. Every photo in our gallery captures the unstoppable spirit of Black motherhood and a community that continues to elevate.
Of course, this momentum is powered by a truly incredible village of partners and supporters. We are deeply appreciative of the generosity that fueled our mission this year, including the essential diapers and wipes from our 6-year partners, the ladies of SGRho, and the 30 baby activity gyms gifted by Infantino. From life-saving CPR training with Falck First Responders to vital advocacy work at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center Luncheon, these collaborations ensure our mamas and staff have the resources they need to thrive. We end 2025 with full hearts, celebrating the staff, participants, and partners who make BIH a beacon of support and sisterhood.
