Jason Sharpe, a lifelong resident of San Diego’s 4th District, began his social work career assisting Black families who were under excessive surveillance by Child Welfare. Drawing on his lived experiences, Jason became a strong advocate for families, significantly influencing policy changes.
Currently, Jason serves as the Fatherhood Engagement Specialist for the Fathers First program, where he aims to improve family safety by raising awareness of prevalent health and social issues within the community.
Recently, Supervisor Montgomery-Steppe appointed Jason to the 4th District seat on the Child and Family Strengthening Advisory Board, a role in which he is committed to prioritizing the needs of families. His recent efforts toward Mandated Reporting reform also led to his selection for the Statewide Mandated Reporting Advisory Committee, led by the California Department of Social Services.
