Daniel L. Munoz: NHA Board of Directors

NHA Board Member Daniel L. Munoz is publisher of La Prensa San Diego, the city’s first Hispanic newspaper, which he founded nearly 25 years ago. The idea of creating a newspaper to give a voice to the Mexican-American community was born while Mr. Munoz was still a student studying Journalism at San Diego State University (SDSU). In his more than 34 years as a journalist, Mr. Munoz has earned many notices of recognition and newspaper awards for his hard work in providing a vehicle for communication within San Diego’s Latino community. Mr. Munoz was born in San Diego and, with the exception of five years spent living in the Philippines in his early childhood, has lived in San Diego his entire life. He received an associate’s degree from San Diego Mesa College before studying at United States International University and then SDSU. In addition to his role on the board of directors of the Neighborhood House Association, Mr. Munoz sits on the boards of the Small Business Employer Advisory Committee and the Chula Vista Economic Development Council. He is a member of the Public Relations Committee.
