Mauri Hamilton is a nonprofit professional and community advocate with nearly two decades of experience serving historically underserved communities throughout San Diego County. Guided by a deep sense of  altruism and a commitment to equity, Mauri has worked extensively to advance social, economic, and health justice through both professional roles and volunteer leadership.

Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer for RISE San Diego, Mauri uses her skills and experience to support RISE and its network in creating spaces where those most affected by systemic inequities can access knowledge, build capacity, and collaborate to lead change and community transformation. In this role, she oversees daily operations, streamlines organizational business processes, and leads strategic planning for fund development.

Prior to joining RISE, Mauri served as the Operations Manager for Economic Development at the Jacobs Center, where she oversaw the daily operations of the Business Accelerator and Resource Center. This unique accelerator served diverse, low-to-moderate-income founders in Southeastern San Diego, ultimately graduating over 120 entrepreneurs and small business owners. During her tenure, she established a solid foundation for collaborative partnerships with major institutions like California Coast Credit Union, sourced vital local business partners for content creation and legal training, and bridged connections with key community organizations, including the Urban League Young Professionals and the Veterans Chamber of Commerce, to utilize the space for civic engagement events and membership meetings.

In addition to her professional work, Mauri is deeply invested in local civic leadership. She has volunteered as a Junior Mentor and Program Facilitator with the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce’s Knowledge Xchange Program, served with the Urban League of San Diego County Young Professionals, and is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
