Andrea Waldron was appointed as chief development officer of the San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the Red Cross in February 2011. As Chief Development Officer, Ms. Waldron is responsible for leading the fund development efforts of the San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of the Red Cross, supporting the mission of the Red Cross locally, nationally and globally. Prior to that appointment, Ms. Waldron served as development director for the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation for more than four years. In her role with the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation she successfully launched their first-ever capital campaign, raising more than $350,000 in six months. Ms. Waldron maintained relationships with major donors throughout a three-state district and also served as the Foundation’s program officer, working closely with the Foundation’s beneficiaries and board of directors. Ms. Waldron has extensive fiscal oversight experience, administering several federal grants including awards from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Education (DOE), Department of Justice (DOJ), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

A longtime fundraising executive, Ms. Waldron has successfully led the fund development efforts of several national and local non-profit organizations. Ms. Waldron served as the development  director for Easter Seals Bay Area, an affiliate of the national Easter Seals organization, securing funding to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by disabilities. During her tenure with Easter Seals, Ms. Waldron also served as a grant mentor for the national Easter Seals organization, coaching senior leadership at other affiliates and helping them to establish successful fundraising programs.  Ms. Waldron has also served as a board and fund development consultant for several national and local non-profit organizations, including TASH, a national disabilities advocacy organization, and STAND! For Families Free of Violence, a county-wide domestic violence agency.

Andrea is an alumna of San Diego State University and enjoys living in San Diego with her husband and two sons. Ms. Waldron is actively engaged in the community and is a member of LEAD San Diego, MILMEC (Military Industrial Legal Media Complex), Leadership California Class of 2012, a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and a member of the Kumeyaay Elementary School Foundation Board and the PTA Executive Committee, where her eldest son attends school.
