John H. Hill brings to Neighborhood House Association (NHA) over 30 years experience in recruitment, employee relations, training and development, benefits and many other areas critical to an organization's success. He joined NHA in 2007 as Vice President of Human Resources.
Before coming to NHA, Mr. Hill spent 10 years serving as Human Resources Manager at the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Prior to that, he worked with the East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, where he filled a number of positions during his tenure, including Retirement System Administrator, Manager of Employment and Acting Manager of Personnel.
He has spent more than a decade in various management positions with the Clark County Personnel Department in Las Vegas and has also held human resources positions with the County of San Diego and the City of Pittsburg, CA.
Mr. Hill holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Armstrong College and an Associate's Degree in General Education from Diablo Valley College.
Mr. Hill's professional affiliations include the International Personnel Management Association Assessment Council, the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, the Society for Human Resource Management, the American Society of Equal Opportunity Professionals and the National Public Employer Labor Relations Association.
Mr. Hill is married to Veronica, a retired high school math teacher and has two daughters in college. In his spare time he enjoys rooting for the Oakland Raiders, genealogy and collecting record albums and old 45's.
His personal philosophy is:
