Hartwell W. "Skipper" Ragsdale, III, CFSP

As President and CEO of Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary, Inc., Hartwell W. "Skipper" Ragsdale, III is the fourth generation of his family in the mortuary business. At 118 years, the Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary is one of the longest African-American operated businesses in the United States. Mr. Ragsdale boasts a long list of professional licenses, including state licenses as embalmer, funeral director, insurance agent and alcohol and drug abuse counselor. His civic service includes currently serving as president of the Diamond Business Improvement District and on the board of the House of Metamorphosis and the Jackie Robinson YMCA. He is an advisory board member of the Big Sister League of San Diego, Inc., a past national treasurer of the Epsilon Nu Delta Mortuary Fraternity and holds memberships in both the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity and the NAACP. He sits on the Programs Committee of NHA's Board of Directors.
